We have been building Coach House Garages for over 50 years. Our construction, as well as the materials and components used, have withstood the test of time. Here’s why:
- Raised concrete curbs, paired with a treated bottom plate and 16” eave overhangs are standard for all Coach House Garages to keep your walls dry and withstand the elements.
- All of our buildings are covered with 7/16” OSB “wood wrap” with high quality house wrap before installing your choice of Vinyl, Metal, Wood or Cement Board siding.
- An engineered truss system is designed and manufactured at our Arthur, IL facility with 1/2” roof sheathing installed onsite, covered in a synthetic underlayment to prevent leaks.
- We use high quality materials on our garages and have highly skilled building crews and a production team who are masters at their trade. With a 5- Year written warranty and up to 50-y ear warranty on components, a Coach House Garage will never let you down.

The product options below are the materials we recommend but we can provide and install almost any type of material you desire.
Siding
Vinyl Siding: We use CertainTeed Wolverine American Legend Siding. The thickness is a full .042 nominal compared to many builders’ series that are much thinner. The siding is also the same color through its entire thickness. Some sidings have a cheaper gray substitute with a colored face only. Wolverine American Legend Siding is also designed to be more resilient and less susceptible to breakage by flying objects.
Metal Siding: We use steel siding manufactured out of Arthur, IL by Legacy Building Supply. The steel siding is 29-gauge G-Rib steel and comes in a variety of painted colors. G-Rib is an economical & practical all-purpose panel that fares well for most types of agricultural as well as many residential and commercial applications. Metal is consistently regarded as being one of the best types of siding material. Its durability, low maintenance, fire resistance, and curb appeal are the most common reasons it’s chosen over other materials. Comes with a 40 year limited paint warranty.
Engineered Wood Siding: We use primed LP SmartSide siding & trim. LP SmartSide products combine both the rich cedar grain texture of traditional wood siding and the timeless aesthetic of smooth finish siding, with the advanced performance of treated engineered wood-to help extend its curb appeal for years to come. All LP SmartSide products are treated to the core through their proprietary SmartGuard process. With four components of protection, the smartGuard process adds strength and helps LP SmartSide products withstand impacts, damage of freeze-thaw cycles, high humidity, fungal decay and more.
Cement Board: We use James Hardie Cement Board siding. James Hardie fiber cement products combine beautiful design with high performance. With a 30-Year Non Prorated Warranty the James Hardie Cement Board Siding is Non-Combustible, Superior Rot Resistance, Impervious to Termite Damage, Resistant to Warping/Expansion, Will Not Melt and Easily Painted.
Roofing
Roof Sheathing: All of our roofing options listed below include ½” OSB Roof Sheathing, synthetic underlayment and a properly ventilated roof system.
Asphalt Shingles: We use CertainTeed brand asphalt shingles in a variety of styles and colors. We are a certified master shingle applicator and therefore can offer the CertainTeed SureStart Plus coverage warranties, which is a full replacement warranty. Our favorite and most common shingle used is the Landmark series, a classic original. With the widest array of colors in the industry, Landmark’s dual-layered construction provides depth and dimension, along with extra protection from the elements.

Walk In Doors
Walk In Doors are assembled at Coach House Garages using a high quality prefinished white steel slab and composite jamb. The edges of the door are sealed with a vinyl weather strip and a heavy- duty aluminum/composite sill. Walk-in Doors are raised panel in three different sizes; 2’8”, 3’0” or 6’ Double. We offer a variety of glass & lockset options to put that final touch on your walk in door.
Overhead Doors
We offer many overhead door options provided by one of two garage door manufacturers based out of Arthur, IL. CHI Overhead Doors and Kevmar Manufacturing. Both overhead door companies offer a wide variety of styles and colors that are sure to meet your overhead door needs. The doors are galvanized steel coated with a factory-baked-on polyester primer and finish coat. The hinges, rollers, and hardware are heavy-duty. The doors come with a lifetime paint limited warranty. The door frame or jamb is covered with .023 thick aluminum with baked-on factory finish.
Windows
We offer a wide variety of vinyl Single Hung, Double Hung, Sliding and Fixed Picture windows. All windows are double pane insulated glass to help avoid frosting in the winter time and include LowE to help protect objects inside from UV rays. Other sizes and styles of windows are available upon request.
Overhang
The Coach House standard is an 8” gable overhang and 16” eave overhang. Covered by high quality aluminum soffit with vented eaves, in a wide variety of colors.
Walls
We manufacture our own wall panels at the manufacturing facility in Arthur, IL using the highest quality lumber available, hand selected by the Coach House production team. Wall panels are assembled using an automated wall panelization equipment and precise cutting tools to ensure the building is square. Wall studs are 16” on center and covered with 7/16” OSB for maximum strength and durability. All walls & gables are protected by a durable house wrap to protect the OSB & studs from moisture.
Trusses
We manufacture our own engineered Truss systems at the manufacturing facility in Arthur, IL using #1 grade or better Southern Yellow Pine throughout the entire truss, hand selected by the Coach House production team. The trusses are precision cut with automated saws & equipment.
