Carol & Carl—New Carlisle, IN
Carol & Carl had a problem: Animals eating through the electrical components of their vehicles was a huge concern for Carol Bonsignore & Carl Ackermann. The only enclosed parking spaces they had available were those inside their barn, which only had a manual door and no real floor to speak of, which lead to frustrating experiences… especially during the harsh, Northern Indiana winters. Clearly, a new garage was a top priority for these homeowners.
Carl stated, “As soon as we became aware of Coach House Garages, we felt that they just dominated on every single dimension, by far.” Good reviews, a fair price point and reliability were among the many things they were looking for in a company to build their garage. They also faced a unique challenge as their home is on the Indiana and National Register of Historic Places. Carol said, “Anything we built had to be approved through the Historical Society.” Carl mentioned how easy it was to make decisions with Coach House Garages, stating that “They had already seen and dealt with all possibilities on other jobs.”
On build day they were very impressed with the building crew. Carol said “The crew was here early, and worked the whole time.” She went on to say, “They were all so pleasant to work with.” This garage, while impressive on the outside, also has many practical uses on the inside. After realizing the abundance of space now available to her, Carol decided to relocate her floral studio from its previous downtown storefront to their new garage. She designs fresh flower arrangements for weddings and has thoroughly maximized the space to fit her needs.
Carol and Carl were extremely pleased with their overall experience and when asked if they would recommend a Coach House to others looking for a custom-built garage, Carol replied, “Absolutely” and Carl followed up by saying “Without any hesitation, and we do.”
